How to Become a Trustee

At the Library’s Annual Meeting on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 7 p.m., elections will be held for four open seats on the Board of Trustees.


If you are interested in running, please fill out this form (link will open in a new tab) and return it to by Monday, September 30.


To be eligible to serve as a volunteer Trustee, with a five-year term of office, you must

  • Have a Library card in good standing (no outstanding fines) for at least 60 days prior to the election
  • Be a resident of Putnam Valley over the age of 18
  • Not be a first-degree relative of a current employee of the Library
  • Be able to attend meetings once a month and not miss more than three meetings a year


Residents of Putnam Valley over the age of 18 (bring proof of age and residence) may vote at the meeting.

We have a very active Board whose primary responsibility is overseeing the financial and institutional health of this organization.
