How to Become a Trustee

At the Library Board’s Annual Meeting on October 16, 2023, elections will be held for three open seats on the Board of Trustees.

If you are interested in running, please fill out this form and return it to trustees@putnamvalleylibrary.org by September 30, 2023.

To be eligible to serve as a volunteer Trustee, with a five-year term of office, you must:

  • Have a Putnam Valley Library card in good standing (no outstanding fines) for at least 60 days prior to the election
  • Be a resident of Putnam Valley or reside within the Putnam Valley School District and be over the age of 18
  • Not be a first-degree relative of a current employee of the library
  • Be able to attend meetings once a month and not miss more than three meetings a year

Residents of Putnam Valley and those who reside in the Putnam Valley School District and are over the age of 18 (bring proof of age and residence), may vote at the meeting.

We are a very active board whose primary responsibility is overseeing the financial and institutional health of this organization.
